Red Bull, Vettel cautious after free practice in Monza

Sebastian Vettel said he was cautious after free practice for the Italian GP in Monza where the German set the best time in the second session on Friday.

“We learned the lesson last year, the real step will only be seen tomorrow. We have taken a step forward, but we must be patient. McLaren are extremely fast and their cars went out a couple of times so I don't know if it was a smooth Friday afternoon for them. Ferrari was also very fast in the afternoon, the lap here is short, there are many straights, not many corners, so the gap between the cars will be very small” declared Vettel.

“I'm still quite happy. It was a good day today. Times could change, we don't know the fuel loads but I'm optimistic, we seem in much better shape here than a year ago. Obviously the absence of KERS this year helps us” concluded Vettel.
