Red Bull: McLaren is the new alternator supplier

McLaren is the new alternator supplier for Red Bull according to the German newspaper Auto Motor und Sport. Last week it became known that the Austrian team, in an attempt to remedy the reliability problems of last year's Magneti Marelli units, Red Bull had asked Renault to look for a new supplier.

There had been rumors of a collaboration with Tag, in reference to Techniques d'Avant Garde, a well-known company affiliated with the McLaren group.

Auto Motor und Sport headlines: “Red Bull is reliable, thanks to McLaren”. Renault confirmed the news by reiterating that, regardless of component suppliers, the responsibility for the adaptation and installation of the alternator lies with the engine suppliers.
