Red Bull, Horner: “I expect a response from Ricciardo to Verstappen's results”
Horner believes Red Bull can draw closer to Mercedes in some races
Chris Horner, Red Bull team principal, is certain that Max Verstappen's great performances will represent further motivation for Daniel Ricciardo to do better. The Australian driver also finished behind the very young Dutchman at Silverstone, who was also cut off from the fight for the podium due to the virtual safety car.
“Ricciardo is not the type of driver who gets depressed - However, Horner defended him - Daniel has demonstrated that he is a classy rider, someone who knows how to stay at the top in this discipline and it is normal that he is not happy about finishing behind his teammate. I'm sure he will respond great to this situation and it's very positive for us to have two guys who are going so fast. Things are improving, the RB12 has improved a lot, in some areas we are almost at Mercedes' level and we hope to be able to get even closer in some races."
