Red Bull, Horner still team principal: "I have renewed the contract"

Chris Horner shuts down rumors that he was out of Red Bull, also talking about the future of F1.

Red Bull, Horner still team principal: "I have renewed the contract"

From the "Goodwood Festival of Speed", where the Red Bull team principal was present Chris horner he wanted to point out that he had extended his contract with Red Bull, despite rumors that he was far from Milton Keynes.

“I haven't lost any sleep over all the rumors about my future. I recently extended my contract with Red Bull, I have an excellent relationship with Mateschitz and my job is to bring the team back to the levels it deserves."

Horner also had the opportunity to joke about the many rumors concerning him: “Two weeks ago I was Ecclestone's successor, a week ago I was out of Red Bull, maybe in a week they'll say I'll drive the car...".

In recent days the RBR team principal has also addressed the delicate issue of Mercedes' excessive power: “F1 cannot afford to have two out of four engine engineers in these conditions (referring to Renault and Honda ed.). They often say we complain, but don't get us wrong; Mercedes has done a great job, they deserve all the successes they are having, the problem is that between breakdowns and penalties, F1 is not offering a good show. We should simplify the show and make the cars more spectacular."

Red Bull's problem - as we know - is represented by the performance deficit of PU Renault but “The French are working hard to close the gap with the other engineers, they are working hard, we for our part have to improve the car race after race – Horner said – Unfortunately, at Silverstone we risk continuing to suffer, while the situation could be more favorable for us in Hungary."

Red Bull also has a contract with Renault for 2016, then you might think about the Ferrari engines, offered in Austria by the president of the Rossa Marchionne himself: "Sergio was really generous in offering us their engines, but he didn't reveal the price! Jokes aside, we still have a contract with Renault until 2016.".
