Red Bull and Renault extend collaboration in Formula 1

Red Bull Racing has extended its F1 engine partnership with Renault by renewing its supply contract until 2016.

The new agreement will see the collaboration between Red Bull Racing and Renault strengthened and will also include KERS. Together they will develop innovative solutions for the new V6 engines arriving in F1 in 2014. Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner said: “We are obviously excited to announce this extension of the agreement with the Renault Alliance. Nissan. It has always been easy to work with Renault Sport F1 which has been a determining factor in the success of Red Bull Racing Renault."

Jean-Francois Caubet, Managing Director of Renault Sport F1, added: “The V6 engines for 2014 represent a great challenge and having the guidance, resources and expertise of Red Bull Technology will help the Renault Sport F1 team in Viry -CHatillon to design and develop a competitive unit from the beginning by optimizing integration with the chassis”.

Bernard Rey, President of Renault Sport F1, commented: “We are delighted that the Red Bull Racing – Renault partnership has been reconfirmed for another five years, bringing us to ten years of collaboration. Red Bull Racing and Renault share the same search for stability, a fundamental condition for success in racing. As well as being a unique opportunity to enhance the performance of Renault engines at the highest levels, it is also a fantastic opportunity to develop technology and expertise within the Renault-Nissan Alliance."
