Red Bull: “It's difficult to dominate even in Monza”

Red Bull has stated that Sebastian Vettel is unlikely to dominate in Monza as well. Although for many Mercedes would have been the favorite on the long straights of Spa-Francorchamps, the German dominated the Belgian GP from start to finish.

Monza is another high-speed, low-downforce circuit, but Vettel isn't sure the RB9 can dominate in Italy either.

“It's difficult to make predictions,” declared the three-time world champion, after having increased his lead over Fernando Alonso, his closest pursuer, to 46 points with eight races to go.

“In Monza we had some terrible races where we suffered on the long straights and years where the loss in top speed was limited, so we could recover in the corners. It's hard to say how this year will go,” he added.

Even technical director Adrian Newey is not sure how the car will fare on the Italian circuit: “I think Monza could be a difficult circuit for us. There are a lot of straights and not many corners."
