Red Bull in Barcelona: Vettel fastest on the first day

Red Bull Racing returned to action at the Circuit de Catalunya yesterday, with Sebastian Vettel at the wheel of the RB7 for the first day of testing in Barcelona.

A damp start gave the team the chance to test the Pirelli intermediate tyres, before conditions returned to dry track conditions. Sebastian had a couple of offs in the morning session, prompting the team to complete some precautionary checks during lunch.

Sebastian Vettel: “Unfortunately, I didn't complete many laps today, we had a long break – longer than expected. It was nothing serious, nothing broken, but to test if you think there might be a problem then you might want to take the car and check. The boys did their best and we had a few runs towards the end of the day. Not as much as we would like, but the car is good and we hope to do more tomorrow.”

Sebastian will be behind the wheel again today, for the second day of the four-day test.
