Ralf Schumacher without any contract for 2009

Like his more illustrious brother who turns 40 today, Ralf Schumacher now seems to be at the end of the line as far as competitive commitments in motor sports are concerned. The German, replaced a year ago by compatriot Glock at Toyota Formula 1, competed in the DTM in the season just ended, finishing fourteenth in the drivers' rankings. The German press has now reported that Ralf's partnership with Mercedes from a DTM perspective ended on December 31st and that no renewal is currently expected. "Nobody has to worry about me," Schumacher told the newspaper BILD – "I have enough racing plans that I won't be left doing nothing."

Ralf Schumacher, 33, took victory in six Grands Prix during his 11 seasons in Formula 1.
