Raikkonen: “A little disappointed with the fourth time, but Mercedes are not far away”

Kimi Raikkonen is a little disappointed with the outcome of qualifying for the Australian F1 GP. The Ferrari Finn finished fourth behind Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) and Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes).

“Qualifying was a bit difficult for me, I wasn't able to put together a decent lap, it went like that all day and I paid for the situation in qualifying too” declared Raikkonen. “It's a bit disappointing but it's not a disaster because the car gave good sensations especially in the final stretch but I wasn't able to put together a complete lap, we'll see tomorrow in the race, we have a good package”.

“We also saw in the tests that the car is good, we have to work on it every weekend but this is normal. Today didn't go very well for me but tomorrow is another day, we'll see what happens. Mercedes is not far away, Seb is between them and I am right behind, we are certainly closer than in the past, clearly this is a particular circuit but we will see what will be possible to do in the race" concluded Raikkonen.
