Raikkonen: “I hate this situation but I can't solve it alone”

Kimi Raikkonen has admitted his frustration with his difficulties driving the Ferrari F14 T after a disappointing US GP. The Ferrari driver finished 13th in Austin, one lap behind the winner Lewis Hamilton.

“It was once again one of the most difficult weekends here,” said Raikkonen. “The situation was similar in Japan too, we struggled with understeer all weekend and whatever we do doesn't seem to resolve it. Obviously during the race the front tires are destroyed. I hate this situation and the way things are going but I can't fix it alone.

Trying to drive slowly in some sections makes no difference to the life of the tires, so I really don't understand,” he added. “It's really disappointing. Not being able to resolve these issues is very frustrating. I hope we will come to understand what the problems are. I appreciate the help and obviously we try to help each other solve these problems but we knew the problem would not be easy to solve.”

“In some sections Fernando has the same problem but I think he doesn't mind too much if the front is slippery. So the effect is not excessive for him, it's a different story” concluded Raikkonen.

Alonso only finished sixth and defended himself from Vettel at the end after his car suffered a serious vibration in the final stages.

“I had big vibrations in the tires in the last two laps,” declared Alonso. “I basically couldn't even see the track. I tried to control the pace. I asked what my advantage was, then Vettel passed Magnussen and it was no longer possible to manage so I pushed hard with really strong vibrations."
