Raikkonen: “It wasn't an easy Friday”

Kimi Raikkonen said Ferrari still has a lot of work to do to try to close the gap to Mercedes at the British GP. The Finn ended his Friday free practice with the second and fourth fastest times in the two sessions but was not satisfied with the car's performance on the hard tyres.

“Am I satisfied? We say yes and no. I struggled with the hard tires, I don't know why" commented Raikkonen. “I don't know if it was that set in particular or the tire itself that doesn't perform well here. While with the medium tire I went much better on the single lap.

“We try to do our best in free practice like every Friday” he added. “Sometimes it goes a little better, it depends on the type of circuit. It wasn't an easy day but I think we learned something. We still need to improve some things and try to progress a bit. Obviously we have work to do but it was a difficult session due to the problems with the hard tyre. But it's Friday, it looks promising but who knows what will happen over the weekend? It's only Friday” concluded Raikkonen.
