Raikkonen: “Long seasons are now part of F1”

The 2017 calendar continues to be discussed. To add to a long-standing controversy over increasingly long and fast-paced seasons, it was Fernando Alonso, disappointed by the 21 races scheduled for next year too and by the presence of too many events without breaks.

To have your say on the topic too Kimi Raikkonen who in an interview with UOL Esporte clearly depicted today's situation: “When we finish the races this year we will be very close to Christmas – he said – so it won't be long before we start again. For the whole team it has been a long year and there will be no time to relax and prepare."

While agreeing with Alonso on the far too close nature of the championship, the Ferrari driver then further clarified his position, underlining how there is no solution to such a situation: "Whoever is not happy with this can always stay at home, because there is always someone else who wishes they were here. It is a fact that long seasons are now part of Formula 1 and who knows what could happen in the future."
