Raikkonen: “F1 is a job, not my life”

Kimi Raikkonen has admitted that he is not interested in Formula 1, cars and victories aside. After two years in the world rally championship, the Finn returned to the premier category this year and in Bahrain he took second place, returning to the podium.

“It's not going bad. I like what I do, and that's enough for me. I don't care if someone says I'm competitive or not. However, it is disappointing to only come second. Who knows what will happen in the next race” added Raikkonen.

After leaving the category in 2009, Raikkonen said that the Formula 1 environment was not to his liking and nothing seems to have changed: “No, I'm just here to race. All the other bullshit doesn't interest me. If there weren't F1 cars I wouldn't be here. Formula 1 plays no role in my private life. I have a real life! I think for many people their life is Formula 1. For me it's not like that."
