Raikkonen: "in Malaysia the results will be much better"

There are two words that stand out after the Australian Grand Prix and they are patience and work. Scuderia Ferrari's objective is clear: we must improve the competitiveness of the F14 T. The feeling is that many teams also used the first GP of the season to get to know the complicated new single-seaters better and it is to be hoped that as the races go by the show can also improve.

And Kimi Raikkonen, one of the most experienced drivers in Formula 1, also talks about patience: “I believe that at the beginning of a season like this, with completely new tires and above all completely new cars, the first objective is to reach the flag in chess. We succeeded and I was finally able to cover the entire race distance with this car."

“I've been in this world for quite some time” – continues Raikkonen – “I can say that it's certainly not the first time I've experienced a difficult first race weekend. We have identified some general issues that need to be addressed in Maranello and also several aspects relating to finding the best set-up for my car and which concern the brake-by-wire system. The correct setup of this device is certainly an aspect that contributes to improving the general feeling with the car because it greatly favors the corner entry phases. Having said that, the F14 T improved more and more from Friday to Saturday and staying out of Q3 was not a question of competitiveness."

Then Kimi returns to the key word of the moment: “First of all we need to stay calm: the team is cohesive, we know what we have to do and how to operate to obtain more performance. We also know that this development process will not be completed overnight, which is why we need to be patient and be able to concentrate fully on our work without looking at others. However, I am sure that, if we do things in the right way, the results will be decidedly better in the next race in Malaysia."
