Räikkönen and Pic on ice in Moscow
The two F1 drivers participated in the Race of Stars
The Race of Stars took place on Saturday in Moscow, which saw some local drivers battle against two Formula riders such as Kimi Räikkönen and Charles Pic.
On the ice rink set up at the Sochi racecourse, the venue for this event since 1978, a head-to-head battle initially took place between the two most famous names at the wheel of two Renault Dusters, with the Finn easily getting the better of the youngster French, then the games became more serious when Kirill Ladygin, winner of the last three editions, and the national RallyCross champion Dmitry Bragin, later excluded due to irregularities in the headlights, also joined.
Therefore the only one to give a hard time to the king of the Iceman event, who for a moment seemed to be able to break the dominance thanks to an excellent start, but who in the end had to give up his weapons.
“There is a long historical bond that unites Finland to Russia” – said the Lotus driver at the end – “It was nice to see all these fans, I hope they will come back to support us when we come again for the GP in 2014! ”.
Although obviously happy, Ladygin did not gloat too much, – “To be honest it would have been difficult for the two guests to do more, we have driven these cars many times and we know them perfectly, but for them it was the first time and they had no not even much time to practice...".
