Racing Bulls | Ricciardo determined: “We have to fight for top five and podiums”

“We can be optimistic,” said the Australian from Sicily

In the very early hours of this Italian morning the Racing Bulls, he was Alpha Tauri e bull rosso, that Las Vegas he unveiled the new one VCARB01, we'll save you sponsors and various stuff otherwise we'll never get out of it. The line-up of drivers is very confirmed, made up of Daniel Ricciardo e Yuki tsunoda in a mix of experience and talent. The Australian, again starting with his family Red Bull after last season's races with the Faenza team, he is aiming high and hoping big, setting the top five and also the podium area as his goal.

“There are a lot of new staff – Ricciardo said on the official Formula 1 channels. Some big partners are coming on board. The team has always taken itself seriously, but I feel that a further step forward has been taken, because it is no longer just a platform for Red Bull, it is time to fight for the top positions of the midfield. There have been some changes and I appreciate it, the mentality in the team is different, everything is fantastic. You have to aim high, but having been in this sport for so long I know I have to be realistic so as not to be disappointed. The top five should be a goal, and by arriving in that position you have the opportunity to get some podiums too. Obviously we want to win, but I don't think it's the time now, but we've been able to make some steps forward from 2023. Finish in the top five in the race before mid-season? I'd like to think so."

“I feel good, I didn't need a long seasonal break like everyone else having raced for half of the last championship, even if coming home is always nice, but there was no need to loosen up so much. For me it was like it was a pre-World Cup, I was preparing, so maybe I have an advantage over the others. I can't make any predictions in view of Bahrain, but from a preparation point of view I have no doubts. Over the winter I've stayed mentally focused so it won't feel like I'm back in the car after so many months. The way we developed the car up until the end of last year, finding some things that worked for me at the beginning and then I think Yuki managed to get great feedback for his driving style, having run well in the end in season, also in Abu Dhabi. We can be optimistic about many aspects."
