Charlie Whiting's visit soon for FIA Grade 1 homologation

Work continues at Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City

The modernization work on the old Hermanos Rodriguez Autodrome, which will host the Mexican Grand Prix next November, is continuing apace. Despite some bureaucratic problems, the organizers of the race are respecting the timetable set a few months ago, carrying forward all the modernization works on the old route located in Mexico City. The central structure and the mobile stands are almost ready and the new road surface is being laid. Work is also well underway on the famous Peraltada curve which, we remember, will be modified in the name of safety.

The drivers will only tackle the first part of the original curve of the track, while, for the second part, chicanes will be created inside the baseball stadium adjacent to the circuit.

The official inauguration should take place next September and the track could soon obtain FIA Grade 1 approval to host a Formula One Grand Prix.
