The ACI Motor Racing Champions were awarded at the Monza Eni Circuit

The 19 Motor Racing Champions Awards Ceremony took place on Friday 2017 January at the Monza Eni Circuit. In the evening, the ceremony for the awarding of awards to the winners of the Italian titles and to those who have carried the Italian colors high beyond the border. The names of the winners of the three Volanti were revealed only at the key moment: Volante d'Oro to Alessandro Pierguidi, winner of the FIA ​​World Endurance Championship with the Ferrari 488; Silver steering wheel for the KZ Kart World Champion Paolo De Conto and Bronze steering wheel for the 12-time Italian Champion and newly crowned European Mountain Champion Simone Faggioli. The ACI Team Italia drivers have been officially announced, who will be supported in the 2018 season by the Federation and Pirelli, with rally drivers Fabio Andolfi, Luca Bottarelli, Damiano De Tommaso and the new Italian junior and 2-wheel drive champion Marco Pollara, for the rallies. The President of the Automobile Club of Italy hosted and personally congratulated all the winners, together with the Director of ACI sporting activities Marco Ferrari. The evening was inaugurated on the starting line of the track where the Italian F.1 GP took place, from where Ivan Capelli, President of AC Milan and the President of ACI himself, connected by video with the ceremony room, addressed the welcome greeting to those present.

In his greeting, President Angelo Sticchi Damiani thanked those who express their energies in favor of sport with passion and competence, congratulating everyone for the excellent level of Italian motoring in every expression. The President underlined the intense work that the Automobile Club of Italy constantly carries out on multiple fronts, focusing on the particular commitment to some races of great importance for the Italian heritage and also on the need to be able to calmly concentrate energies on all fronts that require more attention.

At the party dedicated by the Automobile Club of Italy to its Champions, all the winners of the Historic Cars, Renewable Energy, Off-Road, Kart, Off Road, Rally, Rallycross, Regularity, Slalom, Circuit Speed ​​and Mountain Speed ​​titles were awarded. In the morning, the "Champion of the Year" race takes place on the track between 32 champions at the wheel of Seat Leon Cupra STs on a track created on the central straight of the track. The rally driver Fabrizio Andolfi Junior won, behind the winner of the Italian RGT Championship and the Abarth 124 Trophy, the Gran Turismo GT Cup Champion pistard Eugenio Pisani, the winner of the GT title in the Italian Mountain Speed ​​Championship, Lucio Peruggini and the Champion Italian Junior and 2WD Marco Pollara.
