Speaker controversy: Red Bull could lodge an official protest

The specter of an official protest hovers increasingly over the speakers of three 2009 cars. A few days before the technical checks for the Australian Grand Prix, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko defined Toyota's solutions as "illegal", Williams and Brawn GP.

"They have a double diffuser which gives them five tenths per lap," the Austrian told sportnet.at.

"Seven teams, including Red Bull, agree: these are illegal solutions" declared Marko, hinting at the possibility of an official protest on the occasion of the first race of the season: "Last year we asked for clarification from the FIA for using a similar aerodynamic concept and we were given a negative response."
