Pirelli presents the new F1 tires for the 2013 season

More extreme performance and at least two pitstops per race

Pirelli has officially presented the new ranges of tires dedicated to competitions for the new season. The absolute protagonist, of course, was above all Formula 1, to which most of the products presented are dedicated, which once again will play a fundamental role during the championship. A commitment that Pirelli, according to what president Tronchetti Provera himself declared, will continue to keep in the coming seasons. «We are confident that we will find an agreement for 2014».

Also present at the event was Jean Alesi, who initially spoke with the president by commenting on the images of his past Grands Prix, when tires still played a very different role and were also developed according to other criteria. «Many things have changed – continued the president – Others have not. The competition has always remained the same, as has the spirit."

Pirelli has set itself two fundamental targets for the new season. The first was to create a team of technicians capable of developing tires capable of increasingly increasing their grip, even in the wet, without sacrificing performance, but rather increasing it. The second target, however, was to find a point of balance within which it was possible to have almost the same performance across the entire range of tires dedicated to motorsport, starting from Formula 1, but also in the other classes.

«Pirelli certainly does not avoid competition – Tronchetti Provera replied to a question from a colleague – In other classes we are constantly engaged with other competitors». This is his response to the Milanese company's current sole supplier agreement in Formula 1. Some rumors, however, confirm that Pirelli is not the only company interested in Formula 1 for next year.
