Pirelli in pole position for the supply of F1 tires for 2011

A meeting of the Technical Working did not result in a decision for the supply of tires for the 1 Formula 2011 world championship. According to the magazine Auto Motor und Sport, Pirelli would still be in pole position to take on the role, even if according to rumors both the Italian supplier and Michelin would have asked for 1,5 million euros for each team to be supplied.

Earlier this week, Pirelli representatives met with Bernie Ecclestone.

Furthermore, it has been learned that the tires and the ban on the double diffuser will not be the only technical innovations for 2011.

Aside from the return of KERS, the focus is on aerodynamics. Pending approval from the FIA, the technicians have decided to also prohibit any element in the area preceding the sides, including the flow diverters.

The front wings will also be smaller and the possibility of modifying their incidence will instead be available only for the rear wing.
