Pirelli, Hembery: “With new single-seater tires like on tracks”
Pirelli expects crazy grip from the inflatables planned for 2017
di Antonino Rendina25 August, 2016
The wider Pirelli tires expected for 2017 will increase the grip of the single-seaters exponentially. According to Paul Hembery, Head of Motorsport for the long P company, when the drivers get used to the new tires we will see a performance increase of five seconds per lap, and in general a much "tighter" and more competitive F1.
“With the new tires the single-seaters will run on the tracks – said Hembery – The riders will have amazing grip when cornering, they will have incredible sensations, as if they were on a train glued to the tracks. A change of this kind can also bring out the differences in talent between the various drivers. The best ones will only appreciate a more difficult and competitive Formula 1."
