Pirelli announces the test calendar for 2017

It will be one Ferrari SF15-T modified to conduct the first on-track test of the 2017 specification tyres. Two days have been set, 1 and 2 August, on the artificially flooded Fiorano Modenese circuit for carrying out tests with intermediate and full wet belted tyres.

They will follow, on 3 and 4 August, at Mugello with the Red Bull team, to verify the behavior of the P Zero slicks.

In September, however, Mercedes will take to the track at Paul Ricard, making available the third of the modified 1 F2015 cars which will allow the entire development program agreed with the FIA ​​and the teams to be carried out.

PROGRAM:

It will consist of 10 sessions for a total of 24 days of testing/machine. Everyone will play dedicated shifts for an identical total of 7 days/machine (details in the attached calendar) and dividing the development programs equally. The three teams will be together on the track for a collective validation test on November 29th in Abu Dhabi, two days after the last GP of the season.

CIRCUITS. Five circuits will host the development program. In addition to the aforementioned Fiorano, Mugello, Paul Ricard and Abu Dhabi, between September and October we will also test in Barcelona.

NEW MEASURES:
Plus 60 mm in width for the front: from 245 to 305 mm. Plus 80 mm for the rear, from 325 to 405 mm. The increase in width of the 2017 tires is therefore 25% compared to the current size, and this applies to both slick, intermediate and full wet tyres. The full sizes for slick tires are therefore: 305/670-13 at the front, 405/670-13 at the rear.

The Cinturato intermediate will also have a diameter of 675 mm while the Cinturato wet will have a diameter of 680 mm.

The fit, i.e. the diameter of the rim, remains unchanged compared to today: 13 inches.
