Peter Sauber: “Red Bull without rivals in F1”

Usually very reserved, Peter Sauber spoke on behalf of the entire paddock, admitting that the new Red Bull RB7 "has no rivals".

Recently La Gazzetta dello Sport published statistics according to which Ferrari is the first force with the best average time. Red Bull would only be third behind Mercedes, strengthening the argument of those who claim that the Austrian team has often hidden itself.

McLaren is positioned in the Italian newspaper's ranking behind Renault and Toro Rosso, with just a tenth of an advantage over Williams.

“We did many laps without encountering any reliability problems,” commented Sebastian Vettel to the Spanish newspaper AS. “Speed-wise it looks pretty good but I think we'll have to wait until Melbourne, Malaysia or even China to really see where we are.”

Pressed by those who asked him if the RB7 is truly a winning car, Vettel replied: "How can we say this if we haven't even run a race?".

According to other experts, Red Bull would be as much as six tenths faster than its closest competition, the Ferrari 150° Italia.
