Peter Sauber: "BMW's progress slowed down"

The development curve of the BMW Sauber team has slowed down in recent months. This is the opinion of the founder of the Hinwil team, Peter Sauber. The 64-year-old, who sold most of his shares to BMW before 2006, said the team's uncompetitive pace in Hungary was the result of more complex factors, including tire performance.

Clearly the third force in F1 in 2008, BMW Sauber has recently suffered the return of Toyota and Renault as well as the rise of Red Bull.

"It doesn't surprise me that we have made less progress than the other teams. For us, the development at the start of the season was particularly rapid while now it has slowed down a bit," Sauber told the Blick newspaper.
