Perez: “Sometimes you don't get the recognition you deserve”

La 2016 season she was the best in career for Sergio Perez: the Mexican driver, in fact, has concluded the year in seventh position, certainly a very positive result if compared to 16th place in 2011 with Sauber or 9th in 2015, in his second year with Force India. The regret of Perez, however, is evident: according to what Sergio declared, in fact, very often you don't receive the right recognition you deserve, especially after a good performance or an excellent result in qualifying or the race.

“It's complicated, sometimes frustrating”, commented the Mexican. “You give everything, you have great results… but sometimes many people don't give you the recognition you deserve. Achieving the results I have achieved this year has been incredible, but even in doing so there are people who doubt my potential.", he told the Motorsport portal. “I hope the opportunity to drive for a top team comes soon”, Perez then hoped, hoping for a leap in quality after his good performance this year.

“I feel ready for a top-tier team. When I arrived at McLaren in 2013 I didn't have the experience I have today. Without a doubt, I am now in my best moment to arrive in a top team", Perez continued.
The truth is that Perez's season was really good, very consistent: “It was my best season without a doubt, simply based on the results I achieved”, he said again Czech Perez.

2016 was an excellent year for Perez, even considering the first races of the season, constantly out of the points, compared instead to the good end of season races, in which he managed to score many more points: “At first I thought the season could be a real nightmare. In Barcelona, it was a disaster. The Williams was eight tenths a lap faster, the Toro Rosso by half a second. It wasn't easy, but we gradually improved until we became the fourth team in the league.", concluded Perez, referring to the 173 points obtained by the team in the constructors' classification.
