This season, Nelson Piquet will partner Fernando Alonso for his first season in Formula 1. Nelsinho not only has an important surname: in 2006, he was in the running for the GP2 title, but he was also the youngest ever driver to win the championship in British F3.

Nelson Piquet:
“Melbourne is still a long way off and we still have a lot of work ahead of us. At the moment, I am totally focused on the upcoming test sessions and our development program. This will also allow me to improve my physical preparation, because driving is always the best way to be ready and to continue learning until I am in top condition for my first Grand Prix. My hope for this season is to be able to make the most of the available package and do a good job for the team. There will still be a lot to learn and I don't underestimate the challenges inherent in Formula 1."
