Five place grid penalty in Hungary for Buemi

Five place grid penalty in Hungary for Buemi

Sebastien Buemi will lose five positions on the starting grid of the Hungarian Grand Prix after the fine received today at Nurburging.

The Toro Rosso driver was held responsible for causing an accident with Nick Heidfeld's Renault.

Heidfeld exited the track and the race after contact with Buemi's right rear tire.

FIA stewards found Buemi guilty and imposed a five-place grid penalty for next weekend's race.

“Heidfeld touched me at the chicane and I had a puncture on my right rear tire,” said Buemi. “So I had to pit to change tires, which compromised our strategy even more.”

“It was a disappointing weekend so we can't be satisfied with our performance, so all we can do is look forward to the Hungarian Grand Prix and at least we don't have to wait long for that.”

Today's penalty for Buemi comes after yesterday's penalty when he was disqualified after qualifying following a fuel irregularity.
