Ocon and Vergne ready to join Maldonado in Lotus?

The now probable farewell of Romain Grosjean to Lotus could trigger a real market war for the second seat of the future official Renault structure. According to what ESPN reports, Esteban Ocon and Jean-Eric Vergne would be fighting for the second seat of Lotus alongside Pastor Maldonado. Important news that would move the last pawns of a market that has experienced very few changes regarding the drivers on the grid.

The year in Ferrari allowed JEV to remain within the Circus and considering his experience on the track he would be the ideal profile for the future official Renault structure. Furthermore, the Ocon hypothesis should not be underestimated, given that the Frenchman is one of the most interesting open-wheel talents in the world. The only thing that is clear is that the transalpine manufacturer would like to place a French driver alongside the confirmed Maldonado.

The name of Sergio Perez is also at stake, although the Mexican would be very close to renewing with Force India for another season. However, any decision in this regard will be made after the conclusion of the negotiations between Lopez and Ghosn for the sale of the Enstone base.
