New charges against Ecclestone linked to the sale of F1 rights

The position of Bernie Ecclestone appears to be worsening, as he is involved in new accusations linked to the sale of F1 rights five years ago. Ecclestone is already suspected of having paid a bribe of 50 million dollars to the banker Gerhard Gribkowsky and now the newspaper Der Spiegel is making new accusations.

According to the German media, the current holder of F1's commercial rights, CVC Capital Partners, paid a sum of 837 million dollars to become a shareholder of the rights, at the time controlled by the Munich bank BayernLB. But the banking institution would have received only 770 million dollars.

Der Spiegel claims that 40 million would have gone directly to Ecclestone and another 27 million would have gone to his family holding company, Bambino.
