Ricciardo needs to find more feeling with McLaren

F1 | McLaren, Norris: “Sainz is better at adapting to the car than Ricciardo”

Lando Norris on Thursday in Monte Carlo, which actually saw a McLaren slightly behind, closed down a second to teammate Daniel Ricciardo. For now the Australian driver does not seem to have fully adapted to the MCL35M, still unable to keep up with the young and wild English driver, who has also recently renewed his contract with Woking.

Norris spoke precisely about the difficulties that Ricciardo is facing, making a comparison with former team mate Carlos Sainz.

“Ricciardo is a really, really fast driver when the car suits him perfectly, but as soon as there are a couple of problems he tends to lose a bit of confidence, something that happens to a lot of drivers. It's a question of feeling. From what I understand he needs a single-seater that fits perfectly with his needs - the words of Norris, who then spoke about Sainz - Carlos was good at pushing a car to its limits that wasn't always pleasant to drive, not necessarily tailor-made for him, he was quick to adapt to the car; this is one of its strong points."
