Norbert Haug: “The existence of FOTA is vital”

Mercedes sports business chief Norbert Haug described FOTA as “vital” following the exits of Ferrari and Red Bull.

The latter announced their exit from the association on Friday due to disagreements over the RRA (cost containment agreement). Although Ecclestone stated that teams will never agree on this issue, Haug called FOTA relevant and believes that big teams need to ensure its functions.

Furthermore, the Mercedes CEO stated that Ferrari will support the RRA even after leaving FOTA.
