Nico Rosberg is not worried about Michael Schumacher's progressive improvements

Nico Rosberg he is confident that he still has an advantage over his teammate Michael Schumacher although the seven-time world champion came close in 2011.

Rosberg had a comfortable points lead in 2010, but in 2011 this gap was reduced to 13 points at the end of the season. In any case, Rosberg beat his teammate 16-3 in qualifying (during 2011) and is not worried.

“He came very close last year compared to 2010, but he owes a lot to the tires and the DRS which made overtaking more frequent” said the German in an interview with the February issue of Car magazine alongside Mika Hakkinen. “But Michael also relaunched his performances.”

“We are on the same level and this is excellent. I respect his dedication to the sport and his approach. Next season will be very interesting."

Rosberg has raced 108 Grands Prix without a win, but he insists he is not interested in his career statistics.

“In races I always try to do an excellent job like sixth place in Abu Dhabi. I know my time will come when I have the right car. I can't wait to win because I know it will be an amazing experience, but at the moment I don't suffer from the lack of victories."
