Nico Rosberg: “The victory is gone”

Second place in Budapest for the German who loses the race and world championship leadership

Nico Rosberg: “The victory is gone”

The moment so feared by Nico Rosberg arrived on time mid-season. With the victory slipping tohungaroring the pilot of the Mercedes in fact he also lost the lead in the general classification to the detriment of his teammate, who is now 6 points ahead. Despite the pole position achieved on Saturday and a decent start, the German from Stella saw himself slip away at the first corner Hamilton which from then on became impregnable, thanks also to a route that allows everything except overtaking.

“The race was certainly decided in the first meters after the start. My start was ok but slightly late compared to how Lewis and Daniel started. Then Daniel found himself in the slipstream and Lewis had the inside line. I simply missed the train at the first bend. Then I found myself caught between the two and had to get out of it: fortunately I managed to regain at least second position at the next corner. There I made a good overtaking on the outside but I lost the victory at that moment, there's no doubt about it,” concluded Nico.
