Newey: “F1 risks becoming GP1”

Adrian Newey would have decided to loosen his relationship with the Circus due to the stringent rules introduced recently, especially in terms of aerodynamics.

“Several factors influenced my choice to leave F1, first the need for new challenges and to do something different, then the presence of an excessively restrictive technical regulation – declared the English genius of Red Bull to the monthly Motor Sport magazine – In my opinion we are running the strong risk of becoming a GP1 from a chassis point of view given that the cars are all almost the same. If we were to paint them white no one would notice the difference and next year when we lose the various types of nose it will be even worse. A real suicide for the technical directors."
