Nelson Piquet: "Barcelona, one of my favorite circuits"

Nelson, you contested the first three races of your F1 career. How do you rate your start to the season?
NP:" The start was obviously very difficult, especially the first race in Australia, because everything was new and you had to learn. From race to race things seem easier now. I learned a lot about how to tackle a race and the way of working with the team to optimize performances. I think I just need a little more luck and to score some points. I have a good relationship with Fernando and we work well together."

Where can you still improve?
NP: "On how to set up the car and how to get the most out of the tyres. An F1 weekend passes very quickly and therefore you need to maximize the time available and be better prepared for qualifying."

What can you tell us about this Barcelona circuit? Do you like the track?
NP: "Barcelona is one of my favorite circuits, it is certainly one of the tracks I know best because I spend a lot of time there for testing during the year. It is not particularly difficult or demanding but it is necessary to have good performances aerodynamic because there are many medium speed corners. This makes it difficult to follow other cars and overtaking will not be easy. It will therefore be important to do your best in qualifying in order to avoid getting stuck in traffic and make the most of the strategy ."

The team has an updated package for the Spanish GP. Will it make a difference and what will be your goal for this weekend?
NP: "I believe that with the improvements we have for Barcelona we should be able to take a step forward. We had a positive test last week, but obviously it always takes a little more time before we see the first results. I'm optimistic, I believe we can get both cars into the top ten in qualifying and then get into the points."
