Mosley: "F1 can survive without Ferrari"
According to Max Mosley, F1 could survive without its most famous, long-lived and winning team. These disturbing comments from the FIA president came after Ferrari threatened war over the budget cap. The Italian team has given the first warnings about the possibility of leaving F1, although on Friday it issued a statement in which it said it wanted to avoid a "harmful and useless controversy".
Ferrari is the only team to have taken part in every F1 World Championship held so far and is the biggest name in the sport, but according to Max Mosley “the sport can survive without Ferrari,” even though he acknowledged the losses incalculable that this could bring.
“It would be really sad to lose Ferrari. It's Italy's national team,” said the Briton. Mosley suggested that even if Ferrari were to leave the category his plan would safeguard the long-term participation of other manufacturers.
