Montezemolo could enter politics and leave Ferrari

Luca Cordero di Montezemolo could soon enter politics and leave his role as president of Ferrari. A few days ago the Cavallino board of directors confirmed the 63-year-old as head of the Maranello company for the next three years. But lately there have been rumors of Montezemolo's imminent entry into politics.

“We need a managerial class that enters politics to give, not to take,” Montezemolo told Max magazine. “We need to start working together as a team and spread the culture of unity.”

For many, Montezemolo has already made a decision but will have to resolve his relationship with Ferrari shortly. According to rumors, Lapo Elkann, brother of Fiat president John Elkann, could succeed Montezemolo, supported by the director of the Fiat-Chrysler group, Sergio Marchionne.
