Montezemolo happy with the rumors about Raikkonen's return
Luca Cordero di Montezemolo has revealed that he is happy about the rumors of Kimi Raikkonen's possible return to Formula 1. At the end of 2009, although the Finn still had one year left on his contract, Ferrari decided to replace Kimi Raikkonen with Fernando Alonso with an agreement which also saw Santander arriving as sponsor.
The 2007 world champion then dedicated himself to the world rally championship and recently tried racing in NASCAR, but is now reportedly in talks with Williams to return to F1.
“If he were to return I would be happy,” the Ferrari president declared to La Stampa.
“Kimi is a nice guy, although I have never been able to communicate properly with him. There are some drivers who, like him, still have the flame of speed alive, like Jean Alesi who will race in the Indianapolis 500 next year."
Montezemolo also denied rumors of a possible replacement of Felipe Massa with Nico Rosberg at the end of the season: "Our drivers are Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa."
