Mercedes, Wolff: “Williams will not abandon us for Honda”
The Mercedes team principal recalls that Grove has a contract with Stuttgart until 2020
di Antonino RendinaMarch 24, 2016
The relationship between Mercedes and Williams is more solid than ever, despite some rumors in the paddock about an alleged interest from the Grove team in Honda engines.
Toto Wolff, team principal of the silver arrows and managing director, reiterated how Williams is not only extremely satisfied with the power units supplied to it by Mercedes, but how and above all it is closely linked with Stuttgart, having signed a contract for the supply of the engines which will only expire in 2020.
“The rumors that Williams is interested in the Honda power unit are unfounded, they can't switch to Honda because they have a contract with us until 2020” Wolff explained to Bild.
