Mercedes, Wolff: “Ferrari is making giant strides”

Raise your hand if, after the disappointing 2014 season experienced by Ferrari, you would have expected a Red so fit. Among those most surprised by this situation are not only the enthusiasts but also some of the most important insiders such as the Mercedes boss, Toto wolff. The Austrian admitted he was taken aback from the incredible rebirth of Ferrari in 2015.

Sebastian Vettel and the Prancing Horse were the only ones who were able to take advantage of the failings from Mercedes so much so that, even if it's really tough, the four-time Formula 1 World Champion himself is still fighting for the title world champion with a gap of 59 points from the championship leader, Lewis Hamilton. Even if in Maranello they prefer not to think about the World Championship, according to some rumors Ferrari could play it all from the United States Grand Prix, in Austin, when the Prancing Horse will use its power unit the last Tokens available: “Ferrari is making giant strides and the speed with which they have succeeded has been impressive. It won't be hard to think that they can fight for the World Cup in 2016 – commented Toto Wolff – Whatever happens in the future, it is clear that what happened in 2014 will not be repeated”.

With this last statement the Mercedes boss makes a clear reference to what happened to the Brackley team which, due to its excessive competitiveness, was unable to rival no other team of the starting grid: “In everything that has happened Vettel has certainly had its weight motivating the team but also thanks to his technical knowledge and his spontaneity in winning races".
