Mercedes, Wolff: “Honda will be a tough rival in the future”

Despite a disastrous 2015 to say the least due to an engine not up to the competition's standards, Honda still enjoys a certain respect among its rivals, if it is true that Mercedes' Toto Wolff said he was convinced of the great potential of the Japanese manufacturer, called upon in 2016 for a rapid recovery after the difficult 2015.

The team principal of the Brackley team, speaking on the official Youtube channel of the Anglo-German team, declared that he expects McLaren-Honda to be a major protagonist in Formula 1 in the coming years.

“Honda has a great organization and has many resources; last year they were the ones who improved the power unit the most, with a truly impressive development curve – Wolff stated –  Of course it was a very complicated year for them but despite this they made great progress. I have no doubt in saying that in the future they will be our great rival and a reality in F1."

A joke also about Manor, more and more satellite teams: "They have the right men, excellent technicians who will collaborate with each other and a talented driver like our Pascal Wehrlein. I'm sure the package is ready to fight in the middle of the field."
