Mercedes, used all the tokens for the Monza engine

The real "superengine" in the Italian GP is the one that Hamilton and Rosberg will bring to the track

Mercedes, used all the tokens for the Monza engine

Can a single piece of news, before the confirmation of the track, cut off the legs of rivals? In this case the risk is there and it is also very high. Mercedes, as we learn from circles close to Bracley (or rather Bixworth where they build the devastating PUs that dominate the world championship), has decided to "spend" all the remaining tokens granted for the development of the drive unit on the Italian GP, specifically in the number of seven.

The Stuttgart company will therefore use its third engine in Monza, after having sufficiently squeezed the first two, and this should be the definitive development of the engine for 2015. The strategic move to maximize the PU in view of the fastest race of the world championship is not accidental. Mercedes doesn't want to leave anything to chance, nipping Ferrari's comeback ambitions in the bud.

The Rossa will debut with the fourth engine of the season in Monza, enhanced with the use of three tokens. Maurizio Arrivabene himself had specified in recent weeks that the one from Maranello should not be considered a super engine. Words that are more relevant than ever now that Mercedes has thrown away its mask, surprising its rivals with this choice.

Now we need to understand when Stuttgart will decide to provide customer teams with the latest development of its engine. A choice that will also indirectly weigh on the fate of Ferrrari, just think of the improvements of Williams and Lotus with the second update to their PU.
