Mercedes: Ross Brawn could have a marginal role in 2011

A revolution within the Mercedes GP team could mean that boss Ross Brawn could have a smaller role next year than he held this season. This was announced by the Italian motoring weekly, Autosprint.

The news follows his declarations at the Korean GP, namely that the 55-year-old Brawn is once again thinking about retiring from the business.

The Brackley-based team has always struggled this year (in what was its transition season) after the title won with Brawn GP last year, amid production problems and disagreements between Brawn itself and the boss of Mercedes Norbert Haug.

Brawn revealed in Korea that his plan is to stay in F1, "but he probably won't show up at all 20 races of each season."

And Autosprint goes on to say that current team principal Brawn's support next year could be "limited to a specific area."
