Mercedes, Lauda: "It's stupid to think of plots against Hamilton"

In an interview given to Mara Sangiorgio's microphones during free practice 2 of the Spanish Grand Prix, Niki Lauda expressed his opinion on the rumors of a possible conspiracy within the Mercedes team against Lewis Hamilton. The Austrian labeled these rumors as "nonsense nonsense", underlining how the entire team is working alongside the Englishman to resolve the many reliability problems that have blocked him in the first five rounds of the season. The arrival of the new MGU-H engine in Spain, among other things, only confirms Lauda's words and the German team's desire to recover the reigning World Champion.

Here are the words of Niki Lauda: “Thinking of an internal conspiracy against Lewis Hamilton is absolutely stupid. The entire Mercedes team is working to resolve Lewis' reliability issues and we absolutely want to make a breakthrough already in Spain. Among other things, thinking of such a hypothesis with Ferrari so close is absurd. We don't want to give away points and therefore we are giving our best to help our driver get out of this situation. We believe in him and we are confident in a turning point already here in Barcelona."
