Mercedes, Hamilton: “The Sepang race represents the past, now head to Suzuka”

Once the enormous disappointment of Sepang has been overcome, Lewis Hamilton diverts his attention to the remaining five races of the season where he will try to recover the 23 points that separate him from the current leader of the world championship standings, and teammate, Nico Rosberg. The first of these five "finals" will be held in Suzuka this weekend, where in the last two editions the reigning world champion has taken home the highest stakes.

"Naturally, last weekend was a huge disappointment for me – declared Hamilton – Not just for me, but for the whole team. But there is no point in continuing to dwell on these things. All we can do is focus on the next race. We will need to work hard, but that doesn't scare me. I've had much worse moments than this in my career. Regardless of all this, I will find the strength to react over the next five race weekends".

"I like the Suzuka circuit and I have done well in the last two years, I hope this trend can continue – continued the Englishman – I know that I will have the support of numerous fans who will give me the right support. The welcome and energy received from the fans in Malaysia was the best I have ever seen. In Japan people are really in love with sports. All I have to do is keep my fingers crossed, trying to repay my supporters for the support they show towards me every time".
