Mercedes, Hamilton skipped tests to undergo some medical checks

The absence of Lewis Hamilton in the post-GP tests in Austria he made enough noise, if only because of the great work from his rival-mate Nico Rosberg. The latter was immediately ready to specify “Of having worked on the set-up for both of them” to dispel any suspicion.

Yet Hamilton has only won one of the last four races, with a revived Rosberg hot on his heels in the standings. This is why, according to most, it would have been more than good for Lewis to take part in the tests in Austria. Apparently, however, Lewis has “marked visit” in the literal sense, finding himself forced to skip tests due to some unspecified medical checks.

It's the same English pilot to have explained it on the eve of the British GP: “I had to undergo some medical tests that needed to be done. They were more important than the tests. However, even from afar I was in close contact with the team, who informed me of everything."

However, Hamilton is very confident and is already thinking about the trophy: “Last year the reply given to me was truly horrendous! A piece of plastic...I would like the real Silverstone trophy, the historic silver and gold cup." This will not be possible, considering that the original "British Racing Drivers' Club" trophy remains at the circuit, while the drivers are "only" entitled to a replica. “I told Bernie Ecclestone, we need better trophies, I hope this year the cup is better“. Winning it won't be a problem, Rosberg permitting.
