Mercedes GP, Ross Brawn: “We hope to progress thanks to the updates to the diffuser”

Mercedes GP team principal Ross Brawn hopes his team can continue to make progress in the German Grand Prix following the progress seen in Great Britain last weekend.

The team appears to have made a step forward with the latest modifications to its car's diffuser at Silverstone, and Brawn believes that at its home grand prix next week the team will be even stronger.

“Our car showed positive signs of improvement with the new exhaust system upgrade package at Silverstone, and we have worked hard since then, to further improve our understanding of its performance,” Brawn said.

“We are confident of continuing this progression and putting on a good performance next weekend, giving our drivers the chance to demonstrate what they can do in front of their supporters.”

Michael Schumacher is equally optimistic about his prospects of a strong race at home after finishing in the points in Britain despite a crash and a penalty.

“We saw some improvements at the Silverstone weekend with our new exhaust system, in addition to improvements regarding optimal tire usage, so we go into the next race weekend with a good feeling added to our fighting spirit,” he said. said Schumacher.

“We definitely want to show our home crowd our best possible performance.”

Teammate Nico Rosberg hopes to close the gap with the top teams, thanks to the latest updates.

“I hope we can take another step forward with our new package and close the gap a little to the teams ahead. It will be exciting to drive in front of a large crowd of German Mercedes-Benz fans in the stands. I hope for a good performance from me and our car."
