Mercedes GP: Free practice day difficult to interpret

A good free practice session for Mercedes at the Silverstone circuit in the British Grand Prix. The tests took place entirely on a damp track, and therefore both Rosberg and Schumacher want to wait until tomorrow to understand the behavior and performance of the car in dry conditions.

Nico Rosberg – Pos 2:
“It was difficult out there, but our car worked well in these conditions, and maybe we have better pace in the wet. The intermediate Pirelli tires certainly gave good results today. We will have to wait for dry conditions to get a real picture of our updates because we haven't been able to do as much work as we would have liked, so tomorrow will be important for us.”

Michael Schumacher – Pos 12:
“It was difficult to judge the real performance of the car today, the conditions were never constant enough to get a correct analysis of where we are. So I won't make any conclusions about today's practice sessions until we have the chance for some dry runs tomorrow. However, I am confident because it was a good first day of our Silverstone weekend. We are continuing to develop step by step and make improvements to the car.”
