Mercedes GP: here is the livery of the silver arrows

The Mercedes GP Petronas team today unveiled the official livery for the 2010 Formula 1 world championship at an event in Stuttgart, at the home of the star museum. Mercedes, which took over Brawn at the end of 2009, showed off the new colors on a car from last year as the new car is due to be revealed early next month and debuts on February XNUMX at the Valencia test .

The team will once again be led by Ross Brawn who will return to collaborate with Michael Schumacher. After three years of absence, the German will therefore return to the wheel in the top formula alongside Nico Rosberg.

"For me it's a great emotion, the team has a fantastic future whereas last year it didn't even have a future, we have an exciting partnership with Mercedes" declared Brawn, one of the architects of the Schumacher era at Ferrari.

"Working with Michael is really positive, something I didn't think would happen again. I'm very excited and motivated. Nico is an exciting prospect and will make a very strong pairing with Michael. Nico has been in F1 for several years but yes will have fun working with Michael and discovering how a seven-time world champion works. But it is also great to be part of the rebirth of the Mercedes racing brand. After 55 years Mercedes has its own team again. In my career I have had the privilege of participate in special things but this is really very special" concluded Brawn.

For Rosberg, driving for Mercedes is a dream come true: "For me it's very, very special, a dream come true to drive the first silver arrow for more than 50 years. I can't wait to work with people like Norbert, Ross and Nick and having Michael as a teammate is fantastic. It's going to be a great season."

Schumacher said he was surprised by the fans' reactions to his return: "We saw it a bit in the summer and I was surprised by the reactions, now with the announcement of my involvement in the silver arrows team. It's a great emotion and a great feeling, thanks to all the fans who appreciated it. It gives me great confidence and further motivation."
